Welcome to
Holston Presbytery Camp and Retreat Center

Since 1955, Holston has hosted summer camps in North Carolina for kids seeking refuge from the seasonal heat and a sanctuary for spiritual, mental, and physical growth. Now, as a year-round facility, we welcome groups of any faith to respond to a higher calling and join together in the wooded mountains of Holston Camp and Retreat Center in Banner Elk, North Carolina.

View our Resident Camp Handbook and Day Camp Handbook for updated Covid-19 policies and procedures, a list of what to bring to camp, and everything else you need to know to prepare for an awesome time at Summer Camp!

Summer Camp

Since 1959, Holston has conducted an “experiment in an outdoor Christian community.” Ours is a tradition of small group camping with the goal of providing youth unique opportunities to seek God while forming nurturing relationships and having fun outdoors. We encourage campers to “unplug” for the week and listen to the wisdom of the wind in the trees, the mountain birds, and the rushing creek. As campers play together and explore creation, they try new activities, build community, develop physical, social, psychological, and spiritual skills, and make memories to last a lifetime.
