Within God's beautiful creation, Holston Presbytery (NE Tennessee) offers a perfect setting for outdoor ministry. With Wildcat Lake, hiking trails, cool mountain weather, and the splendor or natural wonders, Holston Camp offers an inspiring outdoor environment.
Although used in a variety of ways, Holston Presbytery Camp primarily offers:
All Holston Presbytery Camp Summer Staff are chosen because of their commitment to Jesus Christ and their desire to help youth. The Christian faith is shared and modeled by our staff in a way that will make youth feel loved and accepted. Campers are encouraged to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to grow in their faith walk.
Holston Presbytery Camp programs are open to all regardless of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, or national origin.
Accredited by the American Camping Association in 1992, our summer camp voluntarily subscribes to high standards in staff selection, program diversity, health and safety, and professional practices. Our structure is one of Small Group Camping, in which 12 campers (6 male and 6 female) and a team of counselors live, play, plan, worship, and grow in an environment of fun and fellowship.
Chartered in 1955, Holston Camp has a long tradition of Christian ministry in a youth camp setting. Our staff are carefully screened in the hiring process. Most counselors are college students. A Health Supervisor is on site at all times to provide immediate needs and dispense medications. In addition, Cannon Memorial Hospital in Banner Elk is one mile away. Our staff are trained in Standard First Aid as well as Child and Adult CPR as a part of their extensive training prior to camper sessions.
All swimming and canoeing activities are supervised by a Red Cross certified lifeguard and campers are required to wear life jackets while boating. Trained and experienced college age or older staff members supervise all camp activities.
